Job Title: Senior Buyer / Senior Supply Chain Analyst

Location: Andover, MA

Report To: Manager of Supply Chain and Logistics

TransMedics, Inc., is the world’s leader in portable ex-vivo warm perfusion and assessment of donor organs for transplantation. Headquartered in Andover, Massachusetts, the company was founded to address the unmet need for more and better organs for transplantation, and has developed technologies to improve organ quality, validate organ viability, and increase the utilization of transplant organs for the treatment of end-stage heart, lung, and liver failure. We are seeking a Senior Buyer/Senior Supply Chain Analyst to support our growing Supply Chain function. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced and dynamic medical device company. This position is based in Andover, MA.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Independently and accurately procure parts for all of Manufacturing per the Production Forecasts and Material Requirements Plan
  • Identify preferred suppliers for each part and negotiate favorable terms
  • Monitor supplier performance and take proactive steps to ensure highest levels of performance from all suppliers
  • Monitor and Maintain Inventory Levels to satisfy Demand Plan
  • Expedite and de-expedite Purchase Orders as required
  • Expedite parts through Receiving and Incoming Inspection
  • Place Purchase Orders per approved requisitions for inventory and Non inventory purchases supporting all functional areas of the organization
  • Ensure Suppliers build and deliver to the latest specifications
  • Maintain Item Master Data in ERP system, including item revision, supplier info, lead times and cost data
  • Ensure material is procured from Suppliers on the Approved Supplier List (ASL) for inventory purchases
  • Lead efforts to assess component and material obsolescence and Supply Chain disruptions for all inventory items; communicate and escalate issues as needed
  • Participate in Supplier Audits as needed
  • Participate in Material Review Board meetings and coordinate inventory dispositions for Non Conforming Material
  • Work with Finance to rectify P/O problems affecting the vouchering process
  • Follow-up with suppliers to address incoming quality Track Supplier On Time Delivery and other Quality issues as required
  • Other duties as directed

Background and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years experience performing Inventory Management and Purchasing functions
  • In-depth knowledge of Purchase Order generation, Material Requirements Planning and Supplier Management
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel spreadsheets and ERP systems
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and changing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Must be results-driven and exhibit a sense of urgency
  • Clear and concise in verbal and written communication, able to foster smooth flow of timely and relevant information
  • Strong initiative and positive attitude


  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain and Logistics or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • APICS Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and/ or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) preferred
