Jim Rao : Chief Financial Officer

Jim Rao joined TransMedics in February 2005, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in the financial industry, with significant expertise in the financial management of medical device companies.

Prior to joining TransMedics, Mr. Rao was a Director of Finance at Medtronic where he led the finance and IT functions for a business unit within the vascular division. Previously, Mr. Rao held several financial positions at Philips Medical Systems (formerly Hewlett Packard), including Finance Director for the ultrasound business unit. Prior to his work experience in the medical device marketplace, Mr. Rao worked at Deloitte & Touche and Chemical Bank advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, private placements and financial restructurings.

Mr. Rao received a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from Babson College’s F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business.
