TransMedics has developed a new investigational technology called the Organ Care System that provides a complete support environment for organs en route to transplant recipients. The TransMedics approach is designed to provide lungs with both oxygen and blood in order to maintain these organs in a protected, functioning state to travel further and arrive healthier.

Extensive development and pre-clinical work is presently being conducted.
