TransMedics has developed a new investigational technology called the Organ Care System that provides a complete support environment for organs en route to transplant recipients. The TransMedics approach is designed to provide kidneys with oxygenated, nutrient-rich blood in order to maintain these organs in a functioning state to travel further and arrive healthier.

Pre-clinical studies have been performed demonstrating the feasibility of the Organ Care System.
